LSTD is kicking off festival season (love saves the day)

love saves the day

Love Saves The Day kicks off festival season 2016 with a bang on 28th and 29th May in Eastville Park, Bristol.  With some great performers, fantastic food and an array of unique entertainment and funky shops, Love Saves The Day is thee place to go to get your summer started. We here at Festival Fashion have been attending Love Saves The Day since it started in 2012 and have seen the festival grow and expand into the show-stopping event it is today. If you haven’t got your tickets yet then hurry up and get them before they sell out!!

Love Saves The Day is a crazy wonderland of love and eccentricity, bringing together the best underground music from across Bristol with some of the most influential performers from around the world, in a weekend that combines the excitement of a city-centre event with the adventurous feeling of a festival deep in the wilderness.

The sound you can expect to hear at Love Saves The Day reflects what Bristol is known for, with Dub, House, Techno and Dance underpinning the beating heart of the city. You’ll get to see some of the original UK pioneers of this scene rub shoulders with its up and coming stars in an eclectic blend that encompasses and embraces everything from the cool Urban through to Beats and Bounce. The first day is usually more based around the energetic side of the movement and a more relaxed Roots style of sonic entertainment dominates the second day. There are 8 music stages to check out at this years Love Saves The Day. The headline acts on the main stage sees the boys from Hot Chip bringing their brand of electro-synth dance music alongside indie rockers Everything Everything and the rapping skills of Dizzee Rascal and Stormzy. Some other highlights from this years line up include Katy B, MNEK, Maribou State, Shy FX, Skream, and Roni Size and Chase and Status (DJ set) on the brand new Arcadia Afterburner stage.

Arcadia Afterburner

This year for the first time ever the Arcadia Afterburner will be appearing at Love Saves The Day. Many of you may have seen the Arcadia Spider before at Glastonbury festival or at the Arcadia Spectacular in Bristol’s Queens Square in 2015. If you have seen an Arcadia performance then you will know that this team put on a show to remember. The Afterburner isn’t the crazy spider that we’ve all come to equal parts love and fear, but a 360° stage with a central flaming spire set above a DJ  booth with a sound system that will ignite Eastville park. With spiralling arms reaching out into the crowd – this will be enough to make your trip to Love Saves The Day 2016 one you will never forget.

Other Entertainment

As well as the music there are many other things to keep you entertained over the weekend; you can get suited and frocked and walk down the isle at Love Saves The Day’s very own inflatable wedding chapel, test your shape making skills against other festival goers in the dance off boxing ring or try to stay on your feet in the roller-skating disco, the wonders to behold on this field once a year are not to be missed. Alongside the fun interactive things to get involved with at the festival some of Bristol’s best and unique independent brands sell their products at Love Saves The Day so it’s a great chance to check out some funky new designs.

After Party

Love Saves The Night as well as the day! The festival finishes at 11 pm each evening but fear not party goers, for those of you with the stamina to keep the party going there are a choice of official after parties taking place at Bristol nightclub venues Motion and Lakota each night. The tickets are separate to the main festival tickets and will sell out soon so get your tickets here before they’re all gone!
